In the run-up to the 65th anniversary of SBK Kunstuitleen & Galerie in 2020, we give you a look at our 'collection of DNA' with the exhibition series 'Collected with guts'.
The first exhibition from the series 'Collected with guts' opens on Friday 15 March 2019 at SBK Galerie 1 Amsterdam. With work by Fransje Killaars, Cornelius Rogge, Lilly van der Stokker, Natasja Kensmil, Henk Visch, Folkert de Jong, Eric Odijk. SBK has more than 30,000 loanable works of art in its total collection of approximately 4,500 different artists, collected over a period of more than 6 decades. It contains unique pieces belonging to different movements and periods within Dutch art history. The core collection is the pillar of our entire collection; the works of art that are part of this, so to speak, form the qualitative highlights. The core works from the SBK collection by artists who have grown over time into (inter)national and regional names within the art world, also form a quality measure for the purchase of new work by a new generation of artists.
