On Saturday 26 November from 12.00 - 14.00, anyone who is interested can walk in and view the exhibition while enjoying a special Cameroonian cup of coffee. The coffee comes from the Bandjoen Station project, set up by artist Barthélémy Toguo. Gallery owner Fons Geerlings is present   to explain the works of art to anyone who wants to. ‘Africa meets North’ will run until December 3, 2016.Africa is brimming with creativity. This is the conclusion you must draw when you look at the colorful works of art that SBK Galerie 23 for Contemporary African Art presents in the pop-up exhibition that she has organized at SBK Amsterdam Noord. For this pop-up exhibition 'Africa meets North', gallery owners Fons Geerlings and Priscilla Tosari put together a selection of contemporary African art by well-known and lesser-known artists. The works of art that normally have their home at SBK Galerie 23 on the KNSM-laan are now temporarily together in Noord and form a surprising line up. Striking are the expressive colors of the works and the diverse use of materials; from working on aluminum to canvases painted with a mix of paint, sand and hay!Works by, among others, Abdelaziz L'khattaf (Marrakech), Obinna Makata (Nigeria), George Struikelblok (Suriname), Didier Donatien Alihonou (Ivory Coast) and Gérard Quenum (Benin).
