SBK Art voucher, art as a present

SBK Sprouts Young Talents 2021

06/10/2021 - 12/10/2021 @ SBK Amsterdam KNSM

From 6 to 12 October 2021, the seventh edition of the SBK Sprouts Young Talents group exhibition will take place in SBK Amsterdam KNSM and Loods 6 with new work by the 'best graduates' of the Dutch art academies 2021.

With this podium, SBK wants to offer young artists a springboard and help them take the first steps in their artistic practice, by presenting them to a large audience. A great opportunity to see the best talents from hundreds of graduates from the 11 leading Dutch art academies in one exhibition and under one roof. With this annual exhibition, SBK aims to highlight young artists and thus show the unique diversity of their work to the general public.

Opening : Wednesday, October 6 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The visit to the exhibition is free. However, it is necessary to reserve a start time to be present at the opening event.

LINK: connection between generations of artists

Simultaneously with Sprouts, the LINK exhibition takes place with work by Yasser Ballemans, Jan Theun van Rees, Semna van Ooy and Jarik Jongman, artists who have been active for some time. LINK offers the work of the graduates a context of contemporary art by renowned artists who partly deal with the same themes. A bridge to the outside world and a showdown for the graduates and an inspiring meeting with the young generation for the more experienced artist.

In the context of LINK, SBK has a collaboration with Arti et Amicitiae.

The invisible route of a postal package

In addition to the Sprouts exhibition, the solo exhibition Network by Tibor Dieters, winner of the SBK Sprouts Young Talents Award 2019, will start in SBK Galerie 1 at the same time. With this exhibition, Dieters exposes an intriguing route. Through pinhole cameras, transformed like postal parcels and sent to various artists and gallerists throughout the Netherlands, Tibor exposes an image of an otherwise invisible process. Network, in which Dieters created a unique series of location-specific photograms of 11 SBK employees, can be seen through November 14.

Participants in this exhibition:
Jurel Bakker, Clara Berger, Maikel Deekman, Sina Dyks, Sophia Maria Favela, Wumen Ghua, Manjot Kaur, Hanneke Kiefmann, Jaehyun Kim, Vivian Mac Gillavry, Luke McCowan, Jochem Mestriner, Nona Mooij, Daria Lou Nakov, Angel-Rose Oedit Doebé, Marjolijn Rijks, Bas Schippers, Hagar Schuringa, Lou-Lou van Staaveren and Tian Teng.

During this event, the winners of the SBK Sprouts Young Talents Award and the SBK-Otto Hetterscheid Incentive Award will be announced.
